| Canals near Shugborough estate |
After finding a great bike mechanic who arranged all necessary repairs we had a leisurely cycle out to the impressive Shugborough Estate, ancestral home of the Earl of Lichfield & yes I did check to see how my inheritance was going!
The ride to our over night accommodation in Rugeley was only a further 5km's on the A51- The Premier Inn located against a back drop of 4 enormous power stacks reminding me the Latrobe Valley.
There was even time to catch up with a few E Mails- although apologies to all because the demise of the Internet cafes overe here it has to be done from my mobile phone, not ideal when cycling 10 hours a day.

Hi Guys,
Kicking goals now, what with visting rich relative and an easy day in the saddle, retiring to the backdrop of the Latrobe Valley, an omen me thinks. Rain, wind and tempest abate and an easy coast down to Honiton. You have experienced a hour in history rather than a minute and given this cockney boy enormous pleasure. I shall let my sister in Bristol know just how close you are, and hopefully she will find you and catch up if you have time. AS an armchair sportsman these days I have followed intently suffered every agonising hic cup which are fast becoming memories, oh how I envy your endeavours.

We're sending Kev over to put an end to all your fun. The Australian Forces have had enough, and are sending him over for you to keep an eye on him, until I get there.
